Claim:
Hungary was ’Hitler’s the last henchman’
Rebuttal:
The claim is false, there were allies on Germany’s side that kept supporting it longer
In detail:
Of the allies of Germany in Croatia and Italy fights were going on until the last day of war, with the local fascist/extreme right parties in power all along. The pro-nazi Slovak and Romanian émigré governments were also in office until the end of the war. Besides, in Slovakia and Hungary there was no organised attempt to switch sides during the war, as opposed to Hungary, whose head of state and government signed a ceasefire with the Soviet Union on 15 October 1944.
