Claim:
The Battle of Bratislava is part of the official curriculum at the West Point Military Academy of the United States
Rebuttal:
This completely unlikely claim is based on hearsay
In more detail:
The rumour has been making circulating on the internet that each commisioned officer has had to learn about the Battle of Bratislava as part of their exam preparation at the West Point Military Academy, but this hearsay is not substantiated by any actual evidence. It would make very little sense indeed, since the description of the battle by a humanist author in the 15th century would be hard to accept at face value, while a contemporary source contains but a few short sentences concerning the battle. As for the age of military adventures in Hungarian history, we have a lot more information about the Battle of Brenta, where Hungarians won, and the Battle of Lechfeld, which they lost.
