The military campaign that culminated in the Battle of Bratislava in 904 was led by the monarch of East Francia, Louis the Child, who was indeed a child at the time. The Holy Roman Empire, aiming to resurrect the traditions of Ancient Rome, came to being in the years following the Battle of Lechfeld, with the coronation of Otto I (later named Otto the Great) in 962 AD.
